Yoruba WikiRadio Show is a weekly radio program aired at Bond F.M. to promote Yoruba Wikipedia and related projects.
The aim is to create awareness about Yoruba Wikipedia and share innovations on digitizing content relating to Yoruba language, culture, and heritage on the internet.
In July 2021, we launched a weekly program on Bond F.M, Lagos Nigeria to discuss interesting facts about the Yoruba Wikipedia, the community, and its contents. As part of the program, there was a session for a quiz where we ask some questions and listeners would have to visit the Yoruba Wikipedia to find an answer and call in. Winners were awarded a gift at the end of each program.
The program reached a wider audience, especially regular listeners of the radio program. More than 2 million people were reached.
The radio station covered Lagos and some Ogun state metropolitan areas with a total population of more than 21 million.
It’s a weekly program that aired for 12 weeks (3 months).
