Wikimedia Affiliates donate educational resources:
In an effort to support accessible learning and open educational resources, the Yoruba Wikimedians User Group and Wikimedia User Group Nigeria teamed up to generously contribute audiovisual learning materials to Ajayi Crowther University in Oyo town, Oyo State, Nigeria. On Friday, June 16th, 2023, this collaborative initiative took place. The Yoruba Wikimedians graciously donated 30 audiovisual recordings showcasing Yoruba indigenous vocations that have been overlooked or are at risk of fading away within the Yoruba community. The materials donated include audiovisual recordings of more than hundred local languages spoken in Southwest Nigeria and Southeast of Nigeria respectively. The aim is to ensure that both current and future generations can connect with and familiarize themselves with these local and indigenous works, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation for their heritage.
